Closing Utility Account

If you are a current customer and wish to close your utility account, you must submit a written request including a copy of a valid government-issued ID, a copy of your Settlement Statement/HUD or Certificate of Title or Deed.

Acceptable forms of written requests include emails or written letters. Only those named on the account may disconnect the service.

Verbal requests will not be considered.

Emails can be sent to UtilityBilling@CooperCity.gov. Written letters can be mailed or brought in person to the Utilities Customer Service window located at City Hall, 9090 SW 50 Place, Cooper City, FL 33328.


Property Owners

  • Required to provide a warranty deed or closing disclosure
  • If a property owner leases their property, the utility bill must remain in the owner's name.
