Opening Utility Account

*The City would like to inform you that, effective September 01, 2024, the city will no longer be accepting tenant deposits.

All new accounts must now be opened in the owner’s name.

To establish a water and sewer account with the City of Cooper City, a signed utility application is required.  The application, which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page, needs to be submitted along with any other required documents.  Applications may be submitted via email to UtilityBilling@CooperCity.gov or in person at the Utilities Customer Service window located at City Hall, 9090 SW 50 Place, Cooper City, FL 33328.

  • New accounts are accepted from: 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday - Friday
  • A one-time account initiation fee of $25 is payable at time of connection for new customers
  • A valid government-issued ID is required for all signers on the application. In addition to submitting proper identification at the time of opening an account, all customers are required to provide the following:

Owners 

  • Required to provide proof of ownership
  • Pay a security deposit equal to $100

Commercial accounts 

  • Required to provide a copy of their Local Business Tax Receipt
  • Required to pay a security deposit on each bay  
  • The deposit amount on commercial accounts varies based on the size of the bay  
  • Please contact Utilities Customer Service for your deposit amount

The City of Cooper City accepts cash, check, cashier's check, money order, e-check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. 

All deposits and initiation fees are payable at the time of set-up.
