1.    Resolution 23-25 (Commission)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COOPER CITY, FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL AND DENOUNCING THE TERRORIST ACTIONS OF HAMAS; PROVIDING FOR DISTRIBUTION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. – Commissioner Katzman

Commissioner Katzman made a motion to approve 23-25, 2nd by Commissioner Green motion passed 4-0

LAND DEVELOPMENT MATTERS

(Florida court rulings now require all land development matters to be considered by the City Commission in a quasi-judicial process.  All persons who wish to give testimony or present evidence must be sworn in.  Copies of the complete procedures are available in the Office of the City Clerk).

5.    Ordinance 23-22 (Community Development)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COOPER CITY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE CITY’S CODE OF ORDINANCES, ENTITLED “ZONING DISTRICTS;” BY SPECIFICALLY AMENDING ARTICLE V, SECTION 23-82, ENTITLED “ACCESSORY BUILDING;” PROVIDING A FIFTY PERCENT (50%) INCREASE IN THE ALLOWABLE SIZE FOR A SHED; PROVIDING FOR A FIFTY PERCENT (50%) INCREASE IN THE ALLOWABLE SIZE FOR A GAZEBO OR PERGOLA; ESTABLISHING SPECIFICATIONS FOR DETACHED PRIVATE GARAGE REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Commissioner Mallozzi made a motion to approve Ordinance 23-22 on 1st reading, 2nd by Commissioner Green motion passed 4-0

CONSENT AGENDA

Commissioner Green made a motion to approve the consent agenda, 2nd by Commissioner Katzman motion passed 4-0

REGULAR AGENDA

9.    Discussion and possible action on Sec. 25-45(e) of the City’s Code of Ordinances – Prohibited Structures and Miscellaneous Landscape Features – Commissioner Mallozzi

Item will be a topic of discussion at the upcoming Commission Workplace

10.  Discussion and possible action on amending the Official City Map of the City of Cooper City by adding American Legion Way as a Co-designation of SW 51st Street in Cooper City - Commissioner Mallozzi

       Commissioner Mallozzi made a motion to direct the City Attorney to draft a resolution co-designating SW 51st Street as “American Legion Way” 2nd by Commissioner Green, motion passed 3-1 Mayor Ross voting no.

11.  Discussion and possible action on the re-development of the Communications Coordinator position. – Administration

       Commissioner Katzman made a motion to approve the re-development of the Communications Coordinator position 2nd by Commissioner Green, motion passed 4-0

12.  Motion to approve an agreement with Garth Solutions for social media, website updating, and graphic design services.

       Commissioner Green made a motion to approve an agreement with Garth Solutions to include a non-compete clause, 2nd by Commissioner Katzman motion passed 4-0.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COOPER CITY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CITY’S CODE OF ORDINANCES, ENTITLED, “PARKS AND RECREATION;” BY SPECIFICALLY AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION 12-45, ENTITLED “NUISANCES AND BEHAVIOR;” PROHIBITING SMOKING AT PUBLIC PARKS WITHIN THE CITY OF COOPER CITY; AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE CITY’S CODE OF ORDINANCE, ENTITLED “PUBLIC SAFETY,” BY SPECIFICALLY AMENDING ARTICLE VI, SECTION 13-82, ENTITLED “CITATIONS – OPTIONS OF PERSONS CITED;”  PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. - Commissioner Katzman

Commissioner Katzman made a motion to approve Ordinance 23-23, 2nd by Commissioner Mallozzi, motion passed 3-0

CITY ATTORNEY REPORT

Commissioner Mallozzi made a motion to engage in an agreement with Attorney Ferraro, 2nd by Commissioner Green, motion passed 3-1 Mayor Ross voting no.
