Cooper City High School Student Spreads Kindness Through Program
City Commission honored Kennedy Lerner, a senior at Cooper City High School with the Community Service Award on Feb. 14th. The cross-country athlete started Cooper Kids Care with her sister after the deadly shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. She hosted a donation drive to send summer activities to families and students at Robb Elementary. They loaded and shipped 10 large boxes filled with bubbles, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, coloring books, and playdough. Kennedy’s ultimate goal is that kids spread kindness to the community and the rest of the world. Cooper Kids Care meets once a month at Flamingo West Park and currently has between 15-20 members.
