Public Input Meeting Scheduled for November 1, 2022

The City of Cooper City will hold a Public Input Meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 5:30 PM at City Hall, located at 9090 SW 50^th Place, Cooper City, FL 33328

 

Cooper City residents and stakeholders are invited to share thoughts and opinions with regard to the City’s Cycle 7 Complete Streets and Other Localized Initiatives Program (“CSLIP”) application to the Broward Metropolitan Organization (“MPO”) for SW 90^th Avenue Safety and Mobility Improvement Project. This grant application has a maximum $3 million award for construction.

 

The location of this proposed project is SW 90^th Avenue from Stirling Road to Griffin Road. The effort proposed for the improvement project includes multimodal, safety, and traffic-calming upgrades, which will strive to improve the quality of life for Cooper City residents. This includes a shared-use path on both sides of SW 90^th Avenue, raised speed table(s) and crosswalk(s) at select locations, neighborhood traffic circles at possible locations spaced along the corridor to reduce speeds as well as stormwater upgrades.

 

The City’s application for this project will be evaluated and ranked by the MPO to determine program eligibility with CSLIP policies. The construction cost of the project is not projected to exceed $3 million. If the City’s project is approved, MPO funding will become available in Fiscal Year 2028 (unless federal funds are available to accelerate projects in prior years).
