City Commission Approves Resolution 22-35
The City Commission approved a resolution relating to the provision of fire services, facilities, and programs in the City of Cooper City. This adopted resolution establishes a fire assessment rate at 81% of fire costs for Fiscal Year 2023. This rate equates to $288.56 per single-family property located within Cooper City. The approved resolution includes a full exemption for nonprofits.
City Commission Approves Ordinance 22-21 on First Reading
The City Commission approved an ordinance, on first reading, which sets the operating millage rate for Fiscal Year 2023 at 5.875, which will ultimately be the lowest total millage rate in Cooper City since 2012. This ordinance will be brought back for a second reading during the Final Public Budget Hearing scheduled for September 27, 2022.
City Commission Amends and Approves Ordinance 22-22 on First Reading
The City Commission approved an amended ordinance, on first reading, which adopts and approves the annual budget for Fiscal Year 2023 and appropriates the funds required for the operation of the City. The proposed budget was amended, and approved, by the City Commission to include $350,000 in contingency for public safety. This ordinance will be brought back for a second reading during the Final Public Budget Hearing scheduled for September 27, 2022.
