City Commission Advances Ordinance Amending Alcoholic Sales at Convenience Stores
The City Commission approved the first reading of Ordinance 23-16, thereby amending section 3-2 of city code. The amendment seeks to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages at convenience stores during the hours of 2 a.m. to 7 a.m., spanning from Monday through Sunday. As part of the ordinance, convenience stores would be mandated to display signage at their cashier stations, notifying customers of the restriction.
City Commission Approves Financial Assistance Service Agreement
The City Commission approved an agreement with Government & ERP Implementation Services, LLC. The agreement paves the way for provision of year-end and financial assistance services to the City.
City Commission Approves Resolution that Provides Water Services to Property Outside City Limits
The City Commission approved a resolution on consent, granting water services outside City limits to Emmaus Property Holdings, LLC in Southwest Ranches. The owners made the request due to the unavailability of water services from the Town of Southwest Ranches. Cooper City, as the owner of the public utility system, already serves adjacent property owners who are connected to the City’s water system.
City Commission Accepts Audit for Cooper City’s Financial Report
The City Commission accepted the audit conducted by Keefe McCullough CPAs for Cooper City’s Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
