New Parking Restrictions 2020

New Parking Restrictions

ATTENTION COMMUNITY PARTNERS NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Cooper City has updated its City Code to address the problem of many vehicles parked and left unattended for hours at City parks and on street swales, particularly near schools.

As these unattended vehicles can pose security and safety concerns, the Broward Sheriff’s Office may issue parking citations to the owners of those vehicles that are impermissibly parked along swales and other municipal areas, in violation of any posted “No Stopping – Standing - Parking" sign.

The "No Stopping – Standing - Parking" signs such as shown in the picture below may designate an area or a time period where parking a vehicle is prohibited.

Please also be advised that no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle on any roadway within 1,000 feet of a public or private elementary, middle or high school at anytime in designated areas where signs are posted.

For the safety of all our residents, thank you for your attention to and compliance with the City’s new parking Code.

See Ordinance 20-3-2, which amends section 17-17 & 17-18 of the City Code
