Monitoring Helene Update #2 - South Florida Remains Under Tropical Storm Warning

The City of Cooper City continues to monitor Hurricane Helene. A tropical storm warning, tornado watch, and flood watch are in effect for South Florida, including Cooper City as periods of heavy rain and strong winds push through our area.

The National Weather Service has advised that there is the potential for 2-4 inches of rain resulting in localized flooding and a chance for isolated tornadoes. 

City Operations
As of this update, Cooper City’s municipal operations continue on a normal schedule. City Hall, the Community Center, and Pool and Tennis Center remain on regular schedule.

District Water Bodies
Our Utilities Department regularly works with the South Florida Water Management District and Central Broward Water Control District to ensure that water levels for respective canals and water bodies are kept at proper levels in anticipation of tropical systems.

Parks, Sports Complexes, and Recreational Programming
Activities and fitness programs that take place at the Community Center and Pool and Tennis Center and all organized activities at the City's sports complexes have been cancelled for Thursday, September 26. Our Parks and Recreation Department is regularly assessing weather conditions on our fields and parks. As of this update, parks and recreational facilities are open to the public.

Solid Waste Services
As of this update, all garbage and recycling collection services remain on a regular schedule.
