Cooper City Utilities Administration
The Utilities Department is responsible for operation, maintenance, and improvement of the City's water, sewer, and storm drain systems. The department also houses the Office of the City Engineer.
Operation and maintenance of the water system includes all water piping, up to and including the water meter. The water lines from the meter to the house are the homeowners' responsibility. Similarly, the Utilities Department operates and maintains the sanitary sewer system piping within the public rights-of-way and within dedicated easements. Sanitary sewer piping and drains on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.
The department also maintains the storm water inlets and drain lines on all local PUBLIC streets. Inlets and drain lines on private streets are maintained by the respective homeowner association. Standing water in low areas, dissipating within 24 hours after a rain event, is considered within acceptable limits.
The Utilities Department has an emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call (954) 434-5519 if you have an emergency.
For Utility Billing questions, please call (954) 434-4300 and press option #1.
