Municipal Lien Search

Effective March 13, 2023, The City of Cooper City charges a fee of $125 per municipal lien search request. Search requests include unpaid utility charges, formal and informal municipal liens, special assessments, if applicable, a listing of City Code violations which have occurred on the property within the 12 months immediately preceding the request and a listing of any open building permits issued after May, 1993.

• To request a lien search, please address a letter to the City Clerk:

• Please provide the name, address, email address, and legal description on your letter head.
• Your check should be made out to the City of Cooper City.
• The average turn around for results is 72 hours.
• We will email the results to you.
• If you would like a hard copy, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request.
