2026 Election Information
The City of Cooper City will hold a Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The election will be held on the same day as the November General Election. The purpose of the November 2026 Municipal Election is to elect a Commissioner for Seats 1 & 2, for a four-year term of office ending in November 2030.
Pursuant to Section 2-23 of the Cooper City Code, to qualify to run for an open Commission seat, a person must have resided continuously within the City for at least one (1) year preceding the date of filing.
The City of Cooper City is governed by the City Commission, consisting of five (5) members. The Mayor and Commissioners are elected at-large by a plurality vote, meaning the candidate with the highest number of votes wins the seat. City Elections are nonpartisan; i.e., candidates do not run as members of a particular party, and their party affiliations are not relevant to their position in City government.

Deadline to request that the ballot be mailed:
October 22, 2026
IMPORTANT: The deadline to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 P.M. The deadline for a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned and received by the Supervisor of Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m.
Early Voting Period:
October 19 – November 1, 2026, from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
