Pole Hardening Project
FPL has expanded this project, which includes a section of Stirling Road, to included replacing and setting 13 new concrete poles along SW 90th Avenue, from Stirling Road to SW 54th Place. FPL will post project and contact information door hangers at properties located within the project area. This phase of the project, along SW 90th Avenue, is expected to begin in early or mid-March 2025.
Project Information Related to SW 90th Avenue:
- No work will occur and no lanes will be closed during school drop-off and pick-up times.
- FPL contractor Pike Electric will work on wire transfers with bucket truck and opening holes with Vac truck between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM.
- The installation of the concrete poles will occur during night hours (8 PM to 6 AM) on Stirling Road and on weekend during the day (9 AM to 4 PM) along SW 90th Avenue.
- This work along SW 90th Avenue will require a northbound lane closure and sidewalk closures at intermittent times.
Project Information Related to Stirling Road:
- Work commenced on February 27, 2025.
- Wooden power poles are being replaced with new concrete poles and wire transfers along Stirling Road, between SW 90th Avenue and University Drive.
- This work requires the closure of one eastbound lanes on Stirling Roady during the day time to transfer wires and the closure of two eastbound lanes on Stirling Road during night hours between 9 PM and 5:30 AM to set poles.
