Commissioner Jeremy Katzman
Jeremy Katzman was raised in South Florida, by a single mother who instilled in him the values of hard work and community service. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Public Relations from the University of Florida, later advancing his education with an M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University. He also beat leukemia as a young adult, helping shape his passion for helping others. Jeremy has over 20 years of professional experience, primarily focused on strategic business operations, finance, and communications in the higher education and healthcare industries.
Jeremy is married to Alisa, a speech-language pathologist at Embassy Creek Elementary, and together they are raising their two children, Lexi and Jake, in Cooper City. His deep commitment to the community is driven by his desire to ensure Cooper City remains “the best place to raise a family in Broward County.” Inspired by the values of safety, quality of life, and community, Jeremy ran for City Commissioner to help shape the future of Cooper City for generations to come.
Since being elected in 2022, Jeremy has championed numerous initiatives that reflect his dedication to public health, safety, and community development. He played a key role in leading Cooper City to become an Autism Friendly Community and has worked tirelessly to pass ordinances that prioritize public health and safety, such as banning smoking in City parks and enhancing law enforcement capabilities. Jeremy continues to focus on improving Cooper City’s parks, advocating for traffic and road improvements, and promoting beautification projects to enhance Cooper City’s landscape and infrastructure.
