Commissioner Ryan C. Shrouder
Commissioner Ryan Shrouder is both the youngest and most senior member of the Cooper City Commission. A lifelong resident of Cooper City, he has built a reputation as a bold and passionate advocate for his community.
Committed to public safety and government accountability, he has championed significant legislative initiatives, including substantial increases in law enforcement personnel, funding, and technology. He has also led the implementation of critical internal controls, ethics reforms, and best-practice policies to enhance transparency and efficiency in local government.
For five consecutive years, Commissioner Shrouder has successfully lobbied to reduce the city’s property tax (millage) rate, achieving the lowest rate in over a decade. His leadership ensures that Cooper City remains a safe, fiscally responsible, and thriving community.
Beyond his public service, Commissioner Shrouder is an attorney specializing in real estate and civil litigation. Most importantly, as a father, he feels fortunate to be raising his three young children in the same community where he grew up—passing on the values of “community” that make Cooper City “Someplace Special.”
