Finance Director/CFO - Irwin Williams, CPA

Mr. Williams has more than 30 years’ experience providing financial and accounting services to local governments and nonprofit organizations. A native of Montreal, Quebec, Mr. Williams is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida and Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario, Canada. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and a post-graduate degree from McGill University; both universities are located in Montreal.

Before coming to Cooper City in December 2023, Mr. Williams worked for Plante Moran, CPAs in Michigan, within their government accounting practice. In this capacity, Mr. Williams provided CFO and accounting services to several municipalities including the City of Pontiac where he acted as Finance Director.

Prior to joining Plante Moran in Michigan, Mr. Williams was President of the Nonprofit Assistance Center in Pembroke Pines where he provided CFO and accounting services to local governments and nonprofits. In this capacity, he served as the CFO for the Village of El Portal for 15 years and the Finance Director for the Village of Biscayne Park for two years.

Mr. Williams has been married to his wife Lisa, who he met in the Bahamas, for 29 years and resides in Miramar. He has two step-children.
