FPL Trees and Power Lines

Please be advised that residents who have electric powerlines located on the rear of their property are responsible for the maintenance of any trees or vegetation that may be encroaching on those powerlines.

Florida Power and Light no longer accepts individual requests for line clearing.  We ask that you make arrangements with a certified tree trimming contractor to clear any obstructions, this may help prevent power failures during hurricane season.

In the case of tree trimming related to trees located along swales, please provide a certified contractor with Swale Tree Trimming information from Cooper City's Code of Ordinances.  If you, or a contractor, have questions in regard to swale tree trimming, please contact our City team at 954-434-2300.
