Cooper City Local Business Tax Receipt Applications are processed by appointment. Allow approximately 1 hour for your appointment -

As per Florida Statutes Chapter 205, "The governing body of an incorporated municipality may levy, by appropriate resolution or ordinance, a business tax for the privilege of engaging in or managing any business, profession, or occupation within its jurisdiction." The Local Business Tax Receipt Division Primarily Guides Cooper City Home and Commercial Businesses through the LBTR Process including:
• Assisting business owners and managers in the procurement of Local Business Tax Receipts.
• Ensuring that all active businesses in the City acquire their required Business Tax Receipts prior
to commencement of business activities in Cooper City.
• Establishing and refining Business Tax Receipt procedures and processes.
• Interpreting and applying Local Business Tax ordinances and providing direction regarding all
applicable codes for all affected and interested parties.

• Researching and analyzing data, information and resources relative to Business Tax Receipts
• Scheduling Pre-Inspections and providing for annual fire inspections for commercial business locations.

Prior to applying for your Local Business Tax Receipt, please submit your Zoning Certificate of Use application to ensure that your operation falls within the approved occupancy of your chosen property.

We are happy to schedule an application submittal and processing appointment with you, and will do our very best to accommodate your schedule. Provisions for fee collection may be established individually prior to your appointment. You will be with us for approximately 1 hour during processing.
Use BizTax@CooperCity.gov to submit your single PDF document (no photos) and to request you application submittal and processing appointment. If you do not receive a response after one week, please call us to check on the status of your application.
